This fanciful story was created for Show and Tell #1. It is based on an old old song with hundreds of verses. Musicians would make up their own verses as they played long jam sessions. There are a thousand versions of this song...and as many variations of each verse. Ryan told me that the most difficult decision was which verses to illustrate! Ryan Middaugh grew up in Independence, MO, attended college at Central Missouri State University where he majored in illustration, and now does layout for a local Kansas City paper (the PITCH!)
